C-DOT PDD || Then and NOW

Dear fellow C-DOT Alumnus,

So you are here! Who would want to miss a chance :)

All you have to do is to go to a url and ......

....but before that, please read the following:

You will be asked to enter certain information including your contact information. No, No. Don't worry, your personal information like email and telephone would not be published on the web. It would be secure, stored safely under 'lock and key'.

Of course, what you would like to share with other C-DOTians would be published. Also include some information about what others may want to know. Also, keep a recent picture handy....let it show your face clearly, don't make it look like a landscape! In any case, the landscape is not likely to be nice anyway for most of us (had to bring in the PDD touch!).

And lastly, lest you go wild and start writing an essay, what you will write will be a test of your written communication skills.....how to share the most in a limited space.

Don't be impatient...just a few more instructions....
.....
......
.....
......
......
......

Go to http://www.cdotpdd.com/ and go to your entry. By the way, the preferred browser for now is Internet Explorer. Some more instructions! (1) Make sure the spellings are okay, because there is no spell checker (2) Whatever you submit the first time, will be the one that will get published immediately, you won't be able to make changes (3) Make sure you are on the right page (shows your original entry in the PDD) before you start entering data.

One last thing.....scroll down to see how your entry will look after you are done.

Enjoy.

PS: By the way, this release of PDD come to you courtesy Sanjeev Srivastava, who was the key member of the first release too.

C-DOT PDD

After the first 36 months, two main documents were made at C-DOT:

  • A Report to the Nation - it was a function held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi where the then Prime Minister, Mr. Rajiv Gandhi was the Chief Guest, and the status of C-DOT activities and accomplishments was presented to him. This was called 'A Report to the Nation'. A document with this name was also published. C-DOTians from Bangalore had travelled in a special train to be a part of this historic event.
  • PDD - This was another document that was published. PDD was the acronym for Process Design Document - no one wanted to make these, it had the detailed design as well as psuedo code - everyone wanted to just jump to coding! Such was the impact of PDDs on everyone, that we decided to make another one, but with some difference. PDD meant 'Personal Details Divulged'. It was an album which had pictures of everyone who had joined C-DOT in the first 36 months, and it had a write-up about them which as written by one of the employees.
The PDD was a massive effort - to capture nearly 600 C-DOTians was not easy. Many had already left. There was a big team working on it (see the sign off sheet). As we look back, PDD was perhaps the more important of the two documents that were released after 36 months :).

Well, PDD is available on the web now, and it will be like going down the memory lane. Many of the then C-DOTians have lost their copy (everyone got a copy). And the ones who joined later may not have seen it.

Just go ahead...check it out on http://www.cdotpdd.com/. For best results use Internet Explorer.

Enjoy......

PS: As we all enjoy, let us thank two people who made this possible - Sanjeev Srivastava and Mohan Bhat, both volunteers of Art of Living.
